Composting Rarden, it’s time for show and tell

I’v been working on this composting garden product idea for a long time now. I’ve built quite a few different versions of composting gardens always trying to find a way to make them deployable. When I say deployable, It makes me very happy. We already know composting gardens work and offer many benefits over both traditional gardening, and composting. I learned about compost gardening when I was researching keyhole gardens. Keyhole gardens are named after the key hole like shape they resemble when seen from above. The keyhole part is a notch if you will that allows easier access to the center compost bin. Keyhole gardens started in Africa, they are made of what ever material is lying around or is easy to gather.

My approach was to try and adapt the keyhole garden I made out of wood, and transform it into something that was inexpensive to ship, almost anyone could assemble and fill with dirt in under an hour.

I finally think I have met the goals I set for the first version of the product. So now I am ready to show it off to the world starting with the small town where I built my first keyhole garden. Mokelumne Hill, CA. I rented a 10×10 vendor booth and I will be up in Mokelumne Hill this weekend at the 5k run / walk.

Tomorrow I will assemble my display model and ask for feedback.

I will also take some photos and videos to post back to this site.

Going to bed,

Tomorrow is a big day for me:’)

Thanks,

Roger
